The LBamyan Art Academy and Its Film Screenings on BBC World Service
The LB Art Academy, established to nurture local talents and enhance artistic capacities, has again captured global attention. With the broadcast of the film "Single Mother" by BBC World, this cultural center has added new branches and leaves to Bamyan's art tree.
This significant achievement provides an opportunity to appreciate and thank all those who contributed to the production and completion of this film and the organization of educational courses. The Bamyan Art Academy, which began voluntarily in 2017 with a small but dedicated team, has been conducting three-year filmmaking courses in the region.
The achievements of these courses include dozens of documentaries, short films, reports, travelogues, and series—each a result of voluntary efforts and collaborative teamwork among local artists in Bamyan. Some of these works have been showcased in various festivals, including the Bamyan Film Festival, international festivals, and most recently, on the BBC World Service.
The academy's officials hope that the future history of Bamyan and Afghanistan will recognise this collection as an "invisible treasure"—a truthful narrative of the people's lives in this region.
